We aim to address the , cultural, social, and economic barriers that limit women’s productivity and ability to fully participate in agricultural development, including unequal access to resources, cultural and traditional barriers, and gender-based violence.

Linkages

We will make use of linkages and strategic partnerships with local, national, and international organizations to support development priorities the Nyanza region.  The aim is to implement activities with potential for wealth creation and youth employment.

Health

We will focus on the health of women and girls because, in many areas, they are disadvantaged by discrimination rooted in sociocultural factors. We will work to end practices that bring danger to mother and child, including child marriage, female genital mutilation, and all other forms of violence and discrimination against women and girls.

Education

We aim to empower girls with the knowledge they need to keep themselves healthy and safe.  This we will do through provision of knowledge, skills, and resources, engaging boys and men as partners in girls’ empowerment, training educators in gender-sensitive teaching, and encouraging leadership among girls and young women.

Water and Sanitation

We will address the sustainable harnessing of water resources and provision of adequate water and sanitation infrastructure, enhanced water supply efficiencies and sanitation, water and rainfall disaster management infrastructure, sustainable conservation, management, and utilization of forest resources in the region.
